“Now it was that after three days they found Him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers, both listening to them and asking them questions.”
I absolutely love this passage, showing the importance of learning. Jesus our savior learned, and he learned from those that would end up hating him. But good learning can come from any source, even bad people. I love what 2nd Thessalonians 5:21 says “Test all things: hold fast what is good.” As learners we must have discernment to between what is good and what is not. We can find this discernment in the bible. Christ had amazing discernment, and He proved what He had learned with His actions.
Luke 2:52 “And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.” This verse sums up Jesus’ life from the age of 12 to the age of 30. All he did was learn and act according to what he learned. I can just picture the young carpenter living a joyous life of serving and loving, while humbly presenting wisdom beyond his years when necessary. I strive to be like that, and it is attainable. It starts the same way it started for Jesus, with a leaners heart.
